Optimizing for People

A recent post over at SearchNewz by Steven Bradley really was of interest to me. The idea of optimizing for the social media — or more poignantly, for people. We all know that networking is really key for a popular website. Networking is nothing new to me, I’ve really tried my best to do that since the beginning — but optimizing for the social media (SMO) is really a new concept for me. The next phase for me is to research and implement tagging. The best part of the whole article was Steven’s comments on SEO as karma:

Karma - It might seem kind of silly to think spirituality in terms of marketing and optimization, but I’m talking about the watered down version of karma and not its real spiritual meaning. Helping others and doing good can build a social network that can be mobilized when needed. With so much noise online, being a good citizen on the web can go a long way and bring many rewards.
That really renews the freshness and excitement of internet marketing in my mind. Thanks Steven!

Excellent SEO insight

I was really happy that I took the time to view the video John Reese sent his list today.  These guys have had tremendous success with organic SEO results.  I implemented some of their suggestions already…

Google pays for consumers long distance calls?

Well, so it seems… Google is testing yet another new strategy, placing small telephone icons next to advertisers on search results pages. The icon says, ‘Click to Call’ and Google foots the bill
