SEO Tip - don’t suck

It’s still thankfully true… the best way to continue to rank well in search engines is to have a great site with dynamic content. Content that changes, is original, and worth linking to.

One of my many New Year resolutions is to add fresh, decent content to my websites and blogs on a daily basis. Using the free article databases simply isn’t enough. We have to provide information to our visitors that they can’t find anywhere else, and present it in a way that engages them.

SEO is important, sure. Knowing your target keyword phrases and making sure your pages are optimized well and spider friendly… but if your content is lame or stale, it’s all over.

So, here’s to added website value in 2007!

Google makes their Google Analytics available publicly

Google announced this week that they would make their Google Analytics program available to the public… in usual Google fashion, FREE!

It looks like a pretty decent stats program, but for adwords advertisers it will also integrate with your campaign effectiveness.

I signed up, but it takes up to 12 hours for them to deliver the first report so I can’t say how good it is yet.

You know? You’ve just gotta love Google!

Google offers new incentives to publishers!

WebProNews sent a newsletter out today mentioning that the Mozilla Firefox browser users has increased by almost 3% since April 2005! Although I’m not completely satisfied with Firefox, I do still use it as my default browser and am certainly entertained to watch a small guy start moving in on King Gates turf ;-) . I do love firefox (despite some bugs) for zillions of reasons like the tabbed browsing, awesome plugins and seo benefits.

Well interestingly, just days after reading some of Bill Gates comments (I’ll blog this later) about how Microsoft doesn’t consider Google to be a threat to them and some rather pompous comments that just make Gates the successful guy he is… I login to my Google adsense account and discover that low and behold… not only is Google offering publishers referral revenue for promoting adsense now, but also for promoting Firefox!

Wow! That just rocks :-D
